Prof. Gilles Lubineau
Prof. Lubineau assumed his duties as professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAUST in July 2009. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Egineering from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, Paris VI University in 2009, and served as assistant professor and Head of the Composites, Micro and Nanostructure research group in the same institution for several years. He also had been a visiting Researcher at UC Berkeley USA. In KAUST he has set up the Composite and Heterogeneous Materials Analysis and Simulation Laboratory (COHMAS), an integrated laboratory for controlled composite science, from the process to the characterization, modeling, simulation and the validation. His research interests are: damage mechanism and multiscale modelling of composite, durability of aging composite materials, inverse problem of constitutive parameters identification, and multiscale coupling techniques in continuum model simulations.
